Каждый музыкант должен знать, как обозначается тот или иной аккорд. Для этих целей используются буквы, цифры и знаки. Заглавные буквы или римские цифры означают основной тон, на котором строится аккорд. Большая буква М — большой мажорный 7-аккорд*. Можно встретить и другое обо- значение этого аккорда, а именно таjor (англ. major — больший). Это означает, что аккорд содержит большую септиму и мажорное трезвучие.
