Практикум по лесной энтомоголии

Практикум состоит из раздела общей энтомологии и специальной части (вредители древесных пород). Описана методика и техника про- ведения лабораторных занятий по лесной энтомологии. Приведены упражнения по каждому разделу курса и определительные таблицы различных групп насекомых и наносимых ими повреждений. Рассмотрены главнейшие типы болезней насекомых и энтомофаги, используемые в биологическом методе борьбы. Даны методические указания по сбору насекомых и изготовлению коллекций. Во втором издании пере работаны определительные таблицы, введен новый раздел «Методические указания для преподавателей», значительно расширено изложение методов борьбы с вредными насекомыми

A First Course in Linear Algebra

This text is designed to teach the concepts and techniques of basic linear algebra as a rigorous mathematical subject. Besides computational proficiency, there is an emphasis on understanding definitions and theorems, as well as reading, understanding and creating proofs. A strictly logical organization, complete and exceedingly detailed proofs of every theorem, advice on techniques for reading and writing proofs, and a selection of challenging theoretical exercises will slowly provide the novice with the tools and confidence to be able to study other mathematical topics in a rigorous fashion. While there is an abundance of guidance in the use of the software system, Sage, there is no attempt to address the problems of numerical linear algebra, which are arguably continuous in nature. Similarly, there is little emphasis on a geometric approach to problems of linear algebra. While this may contradict the experience of many experienced mathematicians, the approach here is consciously algebraic. As a result, the student should be well-prepared to encounter groups, rings and fields in future courses in algebra, or other areas of discrete mathematics.

A First Course in Linear Algebra

In this book, I wrote five chapters: Systems of Linear Equations, Vector Spaces, Homogeneous Systems, Characteristic Equation of Matrix, and Matrix Dot Product. I also added exercises at the end of each chapter above to let students practice additional sets of problems other than examples, and they can also check their solutions to some of these exercises by looking at “Answers to Odd-Numbered Exercises” section at the end of this book. This book is very useful for college students who studied Calculus I, and other students who want to review some linear algebra concepts before studying a second course in linear algebra. According to my experience as a math tutor at Math Learning Center, I have noticed that some students have difficulty to understand some linear algebra concepts in general, and vector spaces concepts in particular. Therefore, my purpose is to provide students with an interactive method to explain the concept, and then provide different sets of examples related to that concept.

A First Course in Electrical and Computer Engineering

This book was written for an experimental freshman course at the University of Colorado. The course is now an elective that the majority of our electrical and computer engineering students take in the second semester of their freshman year, just before their first circuits course. we wanted students to have an introduction to a software application tool, such as MATLAB, to complete their preparation for practical and eficient computing in their subsequent courses and in their professional careers, we wanted students to make early contact with advanced topics like vector graphics, filtering, and binary coding so that they would gain a more rounded picture of modern electrical and computer engineering
