Основными задачами фармакологии является изучение фар макокинетики, механизма действия лекарственных средств на ор ганизм здоровых (фармакодинамика) и больных (фармакотерапия) животных, а также на возбудителей инфекционных и инвазионных болезней. Фармакодинамику, как правило, изучают на лабораторных животных. Она является теоретической основой для изучения реак ции организма больных животных на лекарственное средство с це лью использования его для фармакотерапии. Различают несколько видов фармакотерапии: этиотропную, патогенетическую, симпто матическую, стимулирующую и профилактическую.

Today, geographic information systems incorporate many state-of-the-art principles such as relational database management, powerful graphics algorithms, elementary spatial operations such as buffering in vector maps, polygon overlay with logical operations, interpolation, zoning and simplified network analysis . What is termed spatial analysis and mod. elling is often no more than map data manipulation such as polygon overlay and buffering. The lack of analytical and modelling functionalities is widely recognized as a major deficiency of current systems.

Geographic Information System Basics
The purpose of this chapter is to increase our geographical awareness and to refine our spatial thinking. First, a simple mental mapping exercise is used to highlight our geographical knowledge and spatial awareness, or lack thereof. Second, fundamental concepts and terms that are central to geographic information systems, and more generally geography, are identified, defined, and explained. This chapter concludes with a description of the frameworks that guide the use and application of GIS, as well as its future development.
