Professional Selling. AConsultative Approach

The concept for this text originated in the authors’ combined experience in teaching more than 45,000 sales professionals and their managers over the last 26 years. During this time, sales managers consistently lamented their inability to hire individuals with even a basic understanding of the importance of maintaining customer relationships during the sales process. To verify this impression, the authors conducted a formal survey of professional sales man agers to determine die specific skills diey considered most important in a can didate for a sales position with their company.

Fundamentals of Financial Management

The test questions should also require an understanding of concepts and relationships, not just a good memory, and that makes the task of test construction much more difficult. We have taught the course for the past three years, as we were revising Fundamentals, and as much time went into the preparation of test questions as into the text itself.

Management Control Systems

The book continues to focus on the subject of management control. It does not deal extensively with topics such as cost accounting and budgeting procedures, which are discussed in separate accounting courses. Instead, its focus is on newer topics, not usually discussed in such courses—topics such as the control of discretionary costs, profit centers, and the programming process.
