Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D)
Mobile phones are close to ubiquitous in developing countries; Internet and broadband access are becoming commonplace. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) thus represent the fastest, broadest and deepest technical change experienced in international development. They now affect every development sector – supporting the work of hundreds of millions of farmers and micro-entrepreneurs; creating millions of ICT-based jobs; assisting healthcare workers and teachers; facilitating political change; impacting climate change; but also linked with digital inequalities and harms – with the pace of change continuously accelerating. Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) provides the first dedicated textbook to examine and explain these emerging phenomena. It will help students, practitioners, researchers and other readers understand the place of ICTs within development; the ICT-enabled changes already underway; and the key issues and interventions that engage ICT4D practice and strategy. The book has a three-part structure. The first three chapters set out the foundations of ICT4D: the core relation between ICTs and development; the underlying components needed for ICT4D to work; and best practice in implementing ICT4D. Five chapters then analyse key development goals: economic growth, poverty eradication, social development, good governance and environmental sustainability. Each chapter assesses the goal-related impact associated with ICTs and key lessons from real-world cases. The final chapter looks ahead to emerging technologies and emerging models of ICT-enabled development.

Einführung in die Fachsprache der Betriebswirtschaft: Band I
Die vorliegende "Einführung in die Fachsprache der Betriebswirtschaft" (BW) ist nicht eindeutig auf eine Schule festgelegt. Das beruht darauf, daß nicht nur Texte aus Monographien und Handbüchern aufgenommen sind, sondern auch aus Kompendien, Repetitorien und Übungsbüchern, die notgedrungen ein breiteres Spektrum von Tendenzen repräsentieren. Sie folgt im wesentlichen dem entscheidungsorientierten Ansatz in der Betriebswirtschaftslehre und enthält ebenso theoretische wie anwendungsorientierte Textbeispiele. BW enthält somit Handbuch- und Monographietexte von Heinen und Ulrich, aber auch Texte aus viel benutzten Kompendien (Wöhe, Schierenbeck) und Texte aus Übungsbüchern und Repetitorien verschiedener Lehrwerksgenerationen (Wöhe, Heinen, Schierenbeck, Müller), Texte aus gängigen Monographien einschlägiger deutscher und amerikanischer Autoren (z. B. Meffert und Kotler).

Hozirgi zamon tibbiyotining yutuqlari ko'p jihatdan fizika, texnika va tibbiy asbobsozlikdagi muvaffaqiyatlarga asoslangan. Kasalliklarning tabiati va sog'ayish mexanizmi ko'p hollarda biofizika tushunchalari asosida tushuntiriladi. Shuning uchun tibbiyot oliygohining talabalari 1-kursdanoq "Tibbiy va biologik fizika" kursida fizika, texnik, biologik fizika va matematikadan umumiy holda maxsus bilimlarni egallaydilarki, bu fanlarning asosi fizika bo'lib, u tibbiy-biologik masalalarni hal qilishga yo'naltiriladi. Tibbiy va biologik fizika kursida ideologik yo'nalish katta ahamiyatga ega bo'lib, u talabalarda tirik organizmlarda sodir bo'ladigan jarayonlarni tushunishga yordam berishi va ularni vatanparvarlik ruhida tarbiyalashi kerak. Kitob kurs dasturiga mos bo'lib, uning xususiyatlarini o'zida aks ettirgan. Ular asosan quyidagilardan iborat: 1. Asosiy materialning kirish qismida tibbiy-biologik o'lchashlarni matematik usulda hisoblash,informatika va hisoblash texnikasi masalalari bayon qilingan. 2. Kurs ixtisosliklarga bo'lingan, ya'ni aniq "tibbiy manzil"ga ega, bu esa oliy ta'limni qayta qurish talablariga mos keladi. 3. Biofizika alohida ajratilmay, balki mos bo'limlarda tirik mavjudot fizikasi sifatida bayon qilingan.

Android Tutorial
Android is an open source and Linux-based Operating System for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Android was developed by the Open Handset Alliance, led by Google, and other companies. Android offers a unified approach to application development for mobile devices which means developers need only develop for Android, and their applications should be able to run on different devices powered by Android. The first beta version of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK) was released by Google in 2007 where as the first commercial version, Android 1.0, was released in September 2008. On June 27, 2012, at the Google I/O conference, Google announced the next Android version, 4.1 Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean is an incremental update, with the primary aim of improving the user interface, both in terms of functionality and performance. The source code for Android is available under free and open source software licenses. Google publishes most of the code under the Apache License version 2.0 and the rest, Linux kernel changes, under the GNU General Public License version 2.

Structure and Interpretation of Signals and Systems
This book is a reaction to a trauma in our discipline. We have all been aware for some time that “electrical engineering” has lost touch with the “electrical.” Electricity provides the impetus, the pressure, the potential, but not the body. How else could microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) become so important in EE? Is this not a mechanical engineering discipline? Or signal processing. Is this not mathematics? Or digital networking. Is this not computer science? How is it that control system are applied equally comfortably to aeronautical systems, structural mechanics, electrical systems, and options pricing. Like so many engineering schools, Berkeley used to have an introductory course entitled “Introduction to Electrical Engineering” that was about analog circuits. This quaint artifact spoke more about the origins of the discipline that its contemporary reality. Like engineering topics in schools of mining (which Berkeley's engineering school once was), ours has evolved more rapidly than the institutional structure around it.
