Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been used in many important applications. For instance, they can be used to monitor city events by using equipped cameras, where each UAV monitors a certain area of the city. Amazon plans to use UAVs to deliver goods to customers' homes. UAVs can fly in harsh environments (such as the North/South Poles) to collect information about the weather conditions, to understand the Earth's evolution. Military departments can deploy UAVs to collect battlefield information and save soldiers. Although a single UAV could achieve certain tasks, such as delivering goods, many applications require the cooperation of multiple UAVs, which form a UAV network. For example, each UAV only covers a small range in a large city, and multiple UAVs share the complementary image information to obtain the complete picture. Many UAVs can form a swarm to perform challenging tasks, such as forming a specific network shape to attack enemies. In disaster recovery scenes, multiple UAVs fly to different places to detect/save people and coordinate schedule/coverage allocations.
